Kacper Tomasiak reached the podium with Paweł Wąsek, taking Olympic silver in the pairs contest at the Predazzo Games. Individually Tomasiak recorded the fourth-best score — 278.2 points — while Wąsek contributed crucial points with the eighth-best individual mark. The event was dominated by the Austrians.
Tomasiak has been carrying the Polish team's hopes at the 2026 Olympics in Italy. The 19-year-old already has two individual medals at these Games — silver on the normal hill and bronze on the large hill — and on Saturday he helped secure another team medal. Wąsek finished 14th in the individual large hill earlier.
After the first series of the pairs contest Tomasiak and Wąsek were third. The leading pair were Austria's Jan Hörl and Stephan Embacher, followed by Slovenia's Anže Lanišek and Domen Prevc. In the first round Wąsek jumped 133.5 m (137.4 pts) and Tomasiak 135.5 m (137.1 pts), giving the Poles 274.5 total points versus 291.2 for the Austrians and 280.9 for the Slovenes.
In the second series the Polish duo moved up to second overall. Wąsek landed at 129.5 m (131.7 pts) and Tomasiak again at 135.5 m (141.1 pts). Austria remained in front. Norway's Johann André Forfang and Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal were third after that round.
The planned third series was cancelled after Tomasiak's jump because conditions became extremely difficult.
Individually Tomasiak scored 278.2 points, which placed him fourth. The podium individual results were: 1) Stephan Embacher (288.5), 2) Philipp Raimund (282.1), 3) Jan Hörl (280.2), 4) Kacper Tomasiak (278.2). Paweł Wąsek posted eighth best individual points (269.1).
The pairs competition was won by Jan Hörl and Stephan Embacher of Austria; bronze went to Norway's Johann André Forfang and Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal.
