Polish ski jumping legend Kamil Stoch shared his thoughts after winning the team duet event in Predazzo, where he and teammate Dawid Kubacki dominated the field. Speaking to Eurosport with a broad smile, Stoch joked with a line from track and field coverage—“Who is the best, baby?!”—before turning to a measured assessment of his own performance.

Stoch explained that he approached the day intent on shutting out any thoughts of needing to prove something. “I don’t have to prove anything,” he said. “On Friday I jumped well, and it was visible. I just needed to continue that. Today that was my goal, and I’m happy I achieved it.” He added that all three of his jumps were at a similar, high level and that he felt he executed the plan from start to finish.

Individually, Stoch produced the best combined score of the entire competition with 405.8 points, finishing 10.8 points ahead of Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi. Dawid Kubacki also impressed, totaling 380.8 points, as the Polish pair won the duet contest.

Assessing the format, Stoch called his “debut” in Predazzo’s duet event pleasant and exciting, especially given the victory, but emphasized he still prefers the traditional team event. “The old team event can’t be replicated and we should return to it,” he said. “People will always talk, even after today’s contest, but I know what I’m aiming for and how much work I put in. I’m happy we showed character as a team and celebrated together—everyone felt it was our success.”

The result strengthens optimism in Poland ahead of the fast-approaching World Cup season and with an eye toward the 2026 Olympic ski jumping competitions slated for Predazzo.
