Poland’s ski jumpers suffered another disappointing day in Sunday’s FIS World Cup competition in Klingenthal. Although all Poles cleared qualification, the main event brought little joy beyond a decent qualifying rank for Piotr Żyła.

First round: - Maciej Kot finished his day after a 126.5 m jump. - Kamil Stoch (128 m) placed 31st and missed the second round. - Kacper Tomasiak (125.5 m) was 32nd, failing to score World Cup points for the first time this season. - Among those advancing, Piotr Żyła was 17th (130.5 m), Paweł Wąsek 22nd (132 m), and Dawid Kubacki 25th (129.5 m).

At the halfway mark, Slovenia’s Domen Prevc led with 141 m, narrowly ahead of Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi (142 m) and Ren Nikaido (141 m). France’s Valentin Foubert impressed in fourth after landing at 140 m.

Second round and results: - Dawid Kubacki fell to 28th after a 121.5 m jump. - Piotr Żyła slipped three places to 20th overall, with Paweł Wąsek right behind in 21st (127 m), his best result of the season. - Domen Prevc held his lead to claim a fourth consecutive victory, strengthening his grip on the overall standings. - Ren Nikaido climbed to second, while Ryoyu Kobayashi took third. - Valentin Foubert held on to fourth, the best finish of his career.

The World Cup circuit moves next to Engelberg for the following weekend’s competitions.
