Philipp Raimund continued to be Germany’s most reliable performer at the home World Cup in Klingenthal. With jumps of 137.0 m and 127.5 m on Sunday, he finished 10th, adding another strong result a day after his podium (3rd) on Saturday. Raimund lamented wind dying before his second attempt but remained satisfied: “Quali win, third place and now top ten – that makes me more than happy.”
Slovenia’s Domen Prevc again proved untouchable, taking victory in Klingenthal. Japan’s Ren Nikaido and Ryoyu Kobayashi joined him on the podium, albeit with clear deficits to the winner.
Felix Hoffmann delivered a notable surge. The SWV Goldlauter jumper, finding his feet in the World Cup this season, reached the final with 130.0 m (19th) and then flew 134.0 m to finish 12th, calling it a “positive end” to the weekend that brings some calm.
Veteran Pius Paschke showed promise with 132.0 m and 7th in qualifying but slipped in competition with 128.0 m and 125.0 m to 27th, calling it “a step backward.” Luca Roth missed the final, placing 43rd (121.5 m).
Andreas Wellinger’s struggles continued; he failed to qualify after a 111.5 m jump, far behind quali winner Marius Lindvik. Wellinger, like the already-resting Karl Geiger, will take a World Cup break to train, with the Four Hills Tournament only three weeks away.
