Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama claimed a commanding victory in Lillehammer, taking her second win in as many events to open the women’s World Cup ski jumping season. She finished 28.8 points clear of Norway’s Heidi Dyhre Traaserud, with Slovenia’s defending crystal globe holder Nika Prevc in third place.
Austria’s contingent saw mixed results: Saturday’s third-place finisher Lisa Eder placed 12th, Julia Mühlbacher took 17th, Hannah Wiegele ended 33rd and missed the second round, and Chiara Kreuzer was eliminated in qualification.
The Lillehammer stop marked the second competition of the World Cup campaign, with Maruyama establishing early form at the top of the standings.
