The ski suit manipulation scandal continues to stir controversy in ski jumping. Austria’s overall World Cup winner Daniel Tschofenig had recently criticized the Norwegians implicated in the case and hinted that Marius Lindvik knew about the manipulations.

In response, Norwegian jumper Marius Lindvik spoke to Dagbladet and issued a sharp rebuttal: “Those who are shouting the loudest are, in my opinion, the ones who were the worst themselves. You should make sure you’re clean before you speak so loudly.” Lindvik’s remarks reference TV2 reports claiming that athletes from Austria and Germany may also have breached regulations.

The article notes that the new World Cup season begins in Lillehammer on November 21, with Lindvik and teammate Johann André Forfang returning to competition. Both were suspended after the 2025 Nordic World Championships in Trondheim, where Norway drew attention for altered suits; despite the bans, their World Championship medals were retained.

Forfang struck a more conciliatory tone, saying he understands Tschofenig’s reaction and would likely have done the same, but that he would be surprised if such a harsh tone were directed at him personally. The exchange underlines a heated rivalry between Norway and Austria heading into the new season.
