Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama extended her overall lead in the women’s Ski Jumping World Cup with her fifth victory of the season on Saturday in Engelberg. The 27‑year‑old totaled 274.9 points and came from behind in the second round to overtake Slovenia’s halftime leader Nika Prevc (273.2). Norway’s Anna Odine Strøm completed the podium in third with 267.0 points.
Austria’s Lisa Eder finished eighth on 244.4 points and teammate Julia Mühlbacher took tenth with 238.1. Eder told ORF she “struggles massively over the knoll,” adding that placement mattered less to her than executing her jumps: “Tomorrow I need to keep my hips up at take‑off—then it will be fine.” Mühlbacher said she was happy despite not matching her first‑round level.
Sunday’s Engelberg event is the final competition before the Two‑Nights‑Tour over New Year, featuring women’s events in Garmisch‑Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf. Earlier this season Maruyama also won twice in Lillehammer, and once each in Falun and Klingenthal.
