Austria’s former top ski jumper Michael Hayböck is taking on a new role after his retirement: he will join ORF’s expert team beginning with the coming season.
Speaking to ORF, the 34‑year‑old from Upper Austria emphasized he won’t be doing any novelty “camera jumps.” “I’ve gone down the hills long enough; I was really happy to be able to put the skis in the corner. I also gave away most of my gear. So I won’t be jumping with a camera—that topic is done for me,” he said.
Hayböck will make his on‑air debut on Saturday at the Summer Grand Prix in Hinzenbach.
The Austrian ended his career at the end of March 2025. Over a 15‑year World Cup career he won five individual events and celebrated nine podiums at major championships with Austria’s team—highlighted by Olympic silver in 2014 and several World Championship medals.
