New coach of the Polish ski jumpers announces the team list

The Polish Ski Association has finalized the roster for the A-turn season. Coach Maciej Maciusiak has chosen seven athletes: Kacper Juroszek, Dawid Kubacki, Kamil Stoch, Paweł Wąsek, Jakub Wolny, Aleksander Zniszczoł, and Piotr Żyła. Notably, the absence of one name stands out.

On April 14, 2025, the announcement was made, and excitement is building among fans with experienced competitors like Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła, and Dawid Kubacki leading the squad. However, the absence of Maciej Kot is a point of concern. The goal of this team is to prepare adequately for major competitions, including the Olympics and the World Cup.

The new coaching staff also includes Krzysztof Miętus, Kamil Skrobot, Paweł Gurbisz, Maciej Kreczmer, and Michał Doležal as the coach for Kamil Stoch. Additionally, specialists such as dietitian Aleksandra Pięta and psychologist Piotr Krężałek will provide support.

Ahead of an Olympic season

This upcoming season is particularly crucial as it leads into the Olympics. Observers have already noted surprising changes to the World Cup schedule, with events in Wisła being canceled due to disagreements over combined competitions for men and women. The preliminary plan does not include the Norwegian Raw Air tournament, although this situation may change. An alternative location for Wisła is Klingenthal.

The jumpers will also be competing at the World Championships in Oberstdorf and the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. After a long hiatus, ski jumping will also return to Swedish Falun.
