After the resignation of Bernhard Metzler due to personal reasons, Thomas Diethart has been promoted to chef coach for Austria's female ski jumpers. Having won the Tournee in 2014, Diethart's ascent to head coach is seen as a strategic move to revitalize the women’s team.

"I am confident that his calm and collected approach makes him the right person for the job,” said ÖSV sports director Mario Stecher.

Diethart, who has gathered extensive experience as an assistant coach with the ladies' team since summer 2021, hopes to inspire the team, especially to help lead athletes like Sara Marita Kramer and Chiara Kreuzer back to competitive success after a lackluster previous season where neither achieved a top ten finish in any World Cup events this past winter.

Looking forward, Diethart stated, "It’s a cool challenge. I am very excited to take on this position." With the Olympic season looming, there’s a renewed sense of optimism as the team prepares to compete internationally under new leadership.
