Defending champion Nika Prevc (Slovenia) will pursue a third consecutive overall title at the women’s Two Nights Tour as the event begins with qualifications on 30 December. The 20‑year‑old won both legs last season and returns as the favorite.

Her biggest threat is Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama, who leads the World Cup after a breakout campaign featuring eight podiums in ten events (five wins, two second places, one third). Maruyama finished 16th in last season’s Tour but is expected to contend strongly this time.

Other in‑form jumpers mentioned include Anna Odine Ström (NOR), Abigail Strate (CAN), Lisa Eder (AUT), Eirin Maria Kvandal (NOR), Nika Vodan (SLO), and Germany’s Katharina Schmid, for whom the Tour will be particularly emotional. Schmid, a two‑time Olympic silver medalist, has announced she will retire after the season and recently claimed her first podium of the winter with third place in Engelberg.

Schedule and format: After qualification (30 Dec) and the competition (31 Dec) in Garmisch‑Partenkirchen, the Tour concludes in Oberstdorf on 1 January with qualification and an individual event. Formerly the Silvester Tour across Austria and Slovenia, the women’s Tour was rebranded Two Nights Tour in 2023/24 and is now held entirely in Germany, mirroring the start of the men’s Four Hills Tournament but in reverse order. Placements are decided via head‑to‑head duels and a final round, and the champion is the jumper with the highest aggregate World Cup points across the two events.

Two Nights Tour schedule (CET): - 30.12.2025 Garmisch‑Partenkirchen – 17:30 Qualification - 31.12.2025 Garmisch‑Partenkirchen – 13:00 Individual competition - 01.01.2026 Oberstdorf – 14:45 Qualification; 16:15 Individual competition

The article also notes Schmid’s illustrious career, including seven world championship titles and her career‑defining 2023 World Championships in Planica, and her anticipation of one last home appearance in Oberstdorf.
