Nika Prevc (SLO) rebounded from a disqualification in Thursday’s qualification to win the women’s Ski Jumping World Cup in Wisła, Poland, on Friday. Prevc posted jumps of 128 m and 130 m for a total of 259.7 points, defeating teammate Nika Vodan (SLO) by 12.8 points, with Norway’s Eirin Maria Kvandal in third.
The reigning Crystal Globe holder controlled the competition from the start, scoring 130.5 points on her opening 128 m jump to lead by 9.9 points over top-qualifier Vodan. She sealed the victory with a 130 m second jump worth 129.2 points, securing her first-ever win in Poland and second World Cup triumph of the season. The win is the 24th World Cup victory of her career, equalling the total of her brother Peter Prevc.
The result came less than 24 hours after Prevc’s disqualification in qualifying, when officials judged her skis to be one centimeter too long relative to her body weight. Despite having produced the best qualification jump at 119 m, that effort was annulled due to the equipment infraction. On Friday she qualified third behind Vodan and Thursday’s winner Anna Odine Strøm (NOR), then delivered under pressure in the competition rounds.
Post-race, Prevc said she was pleased to have refocused and executed two strong jumps. Vodan celebrated her first World Cup podium since March 2024, calling the result emotional after returning from injury. Kvandal jumped up to third with a strong second round, edging Japan’s Nozomi Maruyama, who missed the podium for the first time this season but continues to lead the overall Crystal Globe standings. Germany’s Agnes Reisch finished fifth, while Strøm placed sixth. Canada’s Abigail Strate, second on Thursday, finished 10th after an under-par first jump.
Looking ahead in Wisła, the men begin with Friday evening qualification, followed by World Cup competitions on Saturday and Sunday. Slovenia’s overall World Cup leader Anže Lanišek arrives in excellent form. Last season on this hill, Daniel Tschofenig (AUT) and Pius Paschke (GER) earned victories. The event schedule lists women’s and men’s sessions across December 5–7, 2025, with all times in EET.
