Germany’s ski jumpers still have a shot at the podium at the opening competition of the 74th Four Hills Tournament. After the first round in Oberstdorf, Felix Hoffmann is the top German in sixth place thanks to a 132.5 m jump (149.9 points), about one and a half meters shy of third.

Right behind him, Philipp Raimund sits seventh (148.5 points). At the front, clear favorite Domen Prevc of Slovenia has one hand on the win after flying 141.5 m for 162.2 points, leading Austria’s Jan Hörl (153.9) and Jonas Schuster (152.4).

No other German made the final. Pius Paschke, last season’s big Tournee hope and overall sixth back then, finished 33rd and missed round two, effectively ending his chances for a top overall placing. It was worse for Andreas Wellinger, the last German Oberstdorf winner (2023), who placed 49th, second-to-last. Luca Roth (45th) and Constantin Schmid (50th) also exited after the first round.

Former Oberstdorf winner Karl Geiger had already been eliminated in qualifying the day before in his hometown.
