In Wisła, where training and qualification for the upcoming World Cup events are set to take place on Friday afternoon, the winds have been particularly strong. We asked Borek Sedlak, assistant director of the World Cup, if there is a significant risk that today’s series will not be held. He provided an optimistic response, stating, "The conditions are better than we thought."

Following the World Cup events in Lillehammer and Ruka, the ski jumpers arrived in Wisła for the next competitions this weekend. Weather forecasts had caused concern for several days, and it appears that the worries were well-founded.

Since early morning, strong winds have been troubling Wisła, with the Cieszyn district being under a warning from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management. "Strong winds with an average speed of up to 35 km/h, gusting up to 80 km/h from the south and southwest are expected," read the official announcement.

What about the Friday training sessions planned to start at 4:00 PM, followed by qualifications at 6:00 PM? We sought a comment from Borek Sedlak regarding this issue.

"I apologize for the delayed response. The conditions are better than we expected (though still on the edge) according to the weather forecasts. We will stick to the schedule and will only decide to delay if it is necessary," Sedlak replied to us.
