Poland have finalized their roster for the prestigious Four Hills Tournament after the World Cup weekend in Engelberg. Head coach Maciej Maciusiak was limited to five selections and opted to omit Dawid Kubacki following his early exit in Sunday’s competition.
The team for the Four Hills will be: - Kacper Tomasiak — currently Poland’s form jumper, who narrowly missed the podium in Engelberg and finished fifth, equalling his career-best. - Kamil Stoch — set to compete in what is expected to be his final Four Hills Tournament. - Piotr Żyła. - Paweł Wąsek — coming off his best result of the season with 13th place in Engelberg. - Maciej Kot — scored points with 27th place in Engelberg.
In Engelberg, Tomasiak led the way for Poland, sitting just 0.1 points off the podium after the first round before ending fifth. Wąsek impressed with 13th, while Stoch was 18th and Kot 27th. Żyła and Kubacki were eliminated after the first round.
Maciusiak chose not to call up anyone from the Continental Cup group for the Four Hills. The tournament opens in Oberstdorf with qualifying on Sunday, 28 December, followed by the competitions in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck, and Bischofshofen.
