Poland’s ski jumping head coach Maciej Maciusiak has made a significant change to the roster for the upcoming World Cup round in Klingenthal, Germany. Following the Wisła competitions, he decided that Aleksander Zniszczoł will not travel to Klingenthal and will instead start in the Continental Cup in Ruka, Finland, to regain form.

The Polish Ski Association (PZN) confirmed the decision minutes after speculation surfaced: “Maciej Kot will go to the World Cup in Klingenthal. Aleksander Zniszczoł will compete in the Continental Cup in Ruka. World Cup squad: Kacper Tomasiak, Piotr Żyła, Kamil Stoch, Paweł Wąsek, Dawid Kubacki, Maciej Kot.”

Maciej Kot earned his call-up with an encouraging weekend in Wisła, where he placed 31st and 14th, including jumps of 127.5 m and 124 m on Sunday. Zniszczoł, who earlier this year finished 10th in Vikersund and 7th in Planica, will look to rebuild confidence and results in the second-tier circuit.

The article also notes that this will be Kamil Stoch’s final appearance in Klingenthal as he plans to retire after the season. Strong showings in Wisła by Piotr Żyła and 18-year-old Kacper Tomasiak—both in the top 10—offer optimism ahead of the German stop.
