Poland has announced its squad for the upcoming Summer Grand Prix ski jumping weekend in Hinzenbach, Austria. The team consists of Maciej Kot, Dawid Kubacki, Kamil Stoch, Paweł Wąsek, Aleksander Zniszczoł and Piotr Żyła. Two individual events are scheduled on the Aigner-Schanze normal hill.
The competitions will run in hybrid conditions using ice inrun tracks. Aigner-Schanze has a K-point of 85 m and a hill size (HS) of 90 m. The official hill record is 96 m, set by Austria’s Gregor Schlierenzauer in 2015.
Poles have a rich record in Hinzenbach’s Summer GP: Kubacki has won there three times (2017, 2019, 2022), Kot has two wins (2012, 2016), and Żyła has multiple podiums. In the previous year’s Hinzenbach stop, Austria’s Daniel Tschofenig and Germany’s Andreas Wellinger took the victories.
Summer Grand Prix overall standings are currently led by Austria’s Niklas Bachlinger with 362 points, followed by Japan’s Sakutaro Kobayashi (317) and Naoki Nakamura (280). The top Pole is Dawid Kubacki in fourth with 261 points. Kamil Stoch is sixth, Maciej Kot seventh, Piotr Żyła 14th, and Aleksander Zniszczoł 18th. Many top jumpers did not compete regularly across the series, focusing instead on the Olympic test event in Val di Fiemme (18–21 September). Among them is Crystal Globe winner Daniel Tschofenig, who has 116 points and shares 18th place with Zniszczoł.
Also this weekend, the Continental Cup summer finale will be held in Klingenthal, Germany, with seven Poles on the start list: Tymoteusz Amilkiewicz, Klemens Joniak, Adam Niżnik, Szymon Sarniak, Andrzej Stękała, Kacper Tomasiak and Jakub Wolny.
