Polish Ski Jumping Team coach Maciej Maciusiak remains optimistic despite a very disappointing start to the World Cup in Ruka. Speaking to TVP Sport, he admitted the team is “far from ideal,” but said a thorough review with the athletes has already identified where the errors lie. While the windy, changeable conditions in Finland played a role, he stressed they were not the only cause of Poland’s underperformance.

Summarizing the Scandinavian tour, Maciusiak recalled that Poland began with five athletes in the top 30, then four in Falun—still short of expectations for both the staff and the jumpers themselves. He emphasized that the group “worked hard” in the preparation period and has “done a solid job,” adding that a collective competitive drive is pushing everyone to improve. He is convinced the team will bounce back and jump much better in the coming events.

Looking ahead, Maciusiak confirmed the lineup for the next World Cup stop in Wisła is “99% decided.” There will be no major talks or shake‑ups; Poland plans to start 10 athletes in both competitions, using the domestic (host) quota available to them. The program on the Adam Małysz Hill begins Friday, 5 December, with training (17:45) and qualification (20:15). Saturday features trial round (13:45) and an individual competition (14:45), while Sunday includes qualification (12:55) and a second individual event (14:25).
