Poland’s men’s ski jumping team will use the full host-country quota at the upcoming FIS World Cup stop in Wisła, head coach Maciej Maciusiak confirmed in an interview with Skijumping.pl.

Following a difficult start in Ruka—where only 18‑year‑old Kacper Tomasiak finished in the points (18th place) and Sunday’s individual event was canceled—Maciusiak urged patience and support from fans as the team returns to home soil. He emphasized that both the athletes and staff are working hard to turn results around and that the home crowd can help them “flip the script.”

Maciusiak revealed that Poland will nominate 10 jumpers for both individual competitions in Wisła by using the national (host) quota. Part of the domestic group will remain focused on training, while the core team returning from Finland will follow a short recovery and preparation block: late return Monday, regeneration Tuesday, light session Wednesday, and arrival in Wisła on Thursday for pre‑event suit RFID ‘chipping’ and checks.

The piece also references concerns about Poland’s Olympic ranking after the poor Ruka outcome but highlights that the Wisła round offers a chance to regain momentum in the World Cup standings.

Wisła competition schedule: - Friday, 5 December: Official training (17:45), Qualifications (20:15) - Saturday, 6 December: Trial round (13:45), Individual competition (14:45) - Sunday, 7 December: Qualifications (12:55), Individual competition (14:25)

The coaching staff hopes a strong showing in Wisła will stabilize results ahead of the new year and help rebuild Poland’s positioning for the season and Olympic qualification.
