Poland captured the pairs event at the Summer Grand Prix in Predazzo thanks to a clutch performance by Kamil Stoch and Dawid Kubacki.

Head coach Maciej Maciusiak selected the experienced pairing, and they led from the opening round. In the first of three series, Stoch flew 134.5 m and Kubacki reached 127.5 m, giving Poland the lead over Japan and Slovenia. The field featured 18 duos and included early disqualifications for Weijie Zhen and Yevhen Marusiak.

Poland extended their advantage in the second round as Stoch matched his 134.5 m and Kubacki added two more meters compared to his opener. Meanwhile, Norway failed to advance and the USA suffered a disqualification.

The final round tightened when Japan’s Ren Nikaido could not move his team ahead, while Slovenia closed the gap. Stoch responded with a superb 135.5 m, the longest counted jump of the competition, putting Poland on the brink. Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi then soared 141 m but spoiled the landing; even so, he briefly moved Japan into the lead, followed by a 137 m jump from Slovenia’s Anže Lanišek.

With the contest on the line, Kubacki required 126.5 m and delivered 137.5 m, clinching the victory. Poland finished ahead of Slovenia and Japan, capping an excellent pre‑Olympic test on the Italian hill at Predazzo.

The article notes the event was part of the Summer Grand Prix series and highlights Stoch as the top individual performer of the day, with Kubacki’s final jump sealing the result for the White‑and‑Reds.
