Uncertainty for Polish ski jumpers — and others: Poland’s fight for Olympic quota places

Polish ski jumping faces uncertainty over Olympic quota places, and it's not the only Polish winter discipline in a precarious position. The likely size of Poland's delegation to the upcoming Winter Olympics will probably not exceed 60 athletes. The battle for places in ski jumping, bobsleigh and luge may stretch to the very end of the qualification window.
At present, indications suggest a disappointing outcome from the ski jumping hill: it appears increasingly unlikely Poland will send the maximum four jumpers allowed by the rules. In contrast, sliding disciplines (bobsleigh and luge) look more promising so far.
The piece mentions leading Polish jumpers and figures connected to the sport, including Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki and Piotr Żyła, and notes that the fight for Olympic quotas will continue as qualification events progress.
