Poland’s ski jumpers delivered a strong performance at the Wisła World Cup round. Kacper Tomasiak finished fifth — the best result of his career — earning €6,000 (about 24,000 PLN). Piotr Żyła placed seventh for €4,400 (about 18,500 PLN). While Tomasiak has been consistently collecting prize money this season, this was a significant financial boost for Żyła.

Before the Wisła weekend, Żyła had just €2,250 (a little over 9,500 PLN) in prize money. On Saturday he earned €2,400 for 14th place, and on Sunday added another €2,000. Across the two competitions at the Adam Małysz Hill, the 38‑year‑old gained €6,800 (nearly 29,000 PLN).

Three other Poles also scored points and prize money on Sunday: Maciej Kot was 14th (€2,400), Paweł Wąsek 25th (€1,000), and Kamil Stoch 27th (€800).

Prize money structure in the current World Cup season: - Men’s individual events: winner €15,000; second €11,500; third €9,000. The total purse for the top 30 in each event is €100,250. - Team and mixed team events: the winning squad receives €34,000 in total; prizes are paid to the top eight teams. - Pairs (duet) events: winner €25,500; prizes for the top 12 teams. - Qualifications: winner of standard qualifications earns €3,175; for ski flying qualifications the winner receives €5,291.

These figures illustrate how the standout results in Wisła translated into record earnings for Tomasiak and a welcome uptick for Żyła.
