Huge feat by 18-year-old Pole: a debut streak not seen in 10 years

Polish teenager Kacper Tomasiak has burst onto the Ski Jumping World Cup with a remarkable run: he has finished in the top 30 (the points‑scoring zone) in every one of his first events. According to historical analyst Tomasz Golik, that consistency from a debut is exceedingly rare across the World Cup’s history.
The benchmark for such a start was set a decade ago. The last athlete to record at least eight consecutive point‑scoring World Cup competitions at the very beginning of a career was Domen Prevc of Slovenia, who achieved the streak across the 2015–16 season. Prevc’s eighth straight points finish came on 3 January in Innsbruck, with the ninth following three days later in Bischofshofen.
Golik points out that similarly strong launches into the World Cup were hallmarks of athletes who later became global stars, including Thomas Morgenstern, Gregor Schlierenzauer and Andreas Wellinger. While Tomasiak’s career is just starting and much remains ahead, his opening run already places him among the most impressive Polish debutants—and among the select group of notable World Cup rookies overall.
