Austrian ski jumper Daniel Tschofenig enters the Olympic season as the clear target after a breakout winter in which he captured the Four Hills Tour crown and a World Cup victory. The 23‑year‑old Carinthian, recently named Austria’s Sportsman of the Year, emphasized that despite last season’s accolades, “everything starts from zero” as the new campaign begins.
Speaking to Krone, Tschofenig explained that he took time to recharge after the demanding World Cup finale, including a four‑week trip through the United States and Canada with his girlfriend. He said the recovery phase and calm moments during summer training were crucial to reset before ramping up preparations for the Olympic winter.
Looking ahead, Tschofenig outlined his plans and mindset for the season: maintaining consistency on the hill, managing the pressure of being the ‘hunted,’ and peaking for key milestones on the road to the Olympics. While rivals are determined to catch him, he insists the competitive hierarchy will be re‑established from scratch once the first gates drop.
