Kacper Tomasiak — verdict delivered. No doubts remain

Another excellent performance from Kacper Tomasiak is no longer a big surprise. The young Polish representative has been outstanding this season, which was confirmed again in Innsbruck where he placed eighth. “He saves the honour of Polish ski jumping — once again,” reads comments online. There are many more reactions to our jumper’s performance.

It is hard to imagine how the Polish team would be evaluated this World Cup season without the surge in form from Kacper Tomasiak. From his first starts in top-level events this season he has shown very well and has ultimately become the leader of our squad.

Also in Sunday’s competition in Innsbruck Tomasiak was the best of the White-and-Red — he finished eighth, and in the final round we had only one other Pole. Dawid Kubacki was classified in 30th place.

“Kacper Tomasiak ‘saves the honour’. ‘Don’t waste this talent’”

“Good that junior Kacper Tomasiak saves the honour of Polish ski jumping — once again. I’m happy for Nikaido’s first win, whose style reminds me of the great Kazuyoshi Funaki,” wrote journalist Krzysztof Niedzielan.

Journalist Piotr Majchrzak wrote: “Kacper Tomasiak reminds me of Robert Kubica. One jumps so very properly and so very stably, as the other used to put in almost perfect laps one after another.”

Adam Bucholz from Skijumping.pl added: “Kacper Tomasiak is starting to settle into the top-10 of World Cup events. Let’s not waste this talent.”

Karol Tyniec from igol.pl commented: “A brilliant contest on Bergisel — the whole podium was separated by just 0.7 points, which shows how close these competitions were. Tomasiak had another good contest and I hope we’ll see him on the podium soon.”

Wiktor Marczuk from TVP Sport noted: “And meanwhile, not Domen, not Nikaido, not Raimund, but Ryoyu Kobayashi is the only athlete who has been in the top 10 at every World Cup event this winter.”

It’s clear that Tomasiak’s run of strong results has generated wide interest and positive commentary. The immediate challenge for Polish ski jumping will be to support and not squander this young jumper’s development as he climbs the World Cup ranks.
